In early October, Activision announced that the shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War will get a second wind in the zombie update, which will include a new setting, characters and, for the first time in the series, cross-platform play.
In light of this, it seems a little ironic that the new Zombies Onslaught mode will be exclusive to PlayStation 4 and 5 for a year.
Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War will feature more PlayStation-exclusive modes in line with a long-term partnership between Sony and Activision. The companies today announced Zombies Onslaught, a new co-operative survival mode in which you fight hordes of undead. In this case, you must be within the boundaries of a narrow sphere and not go beyond its limits.
Zombies will attack in waves led by elite critters, although Activision has warned that the narrow boundaries of the sphere can make even ordinary monsters dangerous. The goal is to shoot everyone around, get the highest rating possible and unlock rewards that can be used in multiplayer battles.
This is not a revolutionary regime, so its absence should not break your heart. However, on Reddit and social media there are a lot of discontent: Zombies Onslaught will be a PlayStation exclusive and will be released on November 13, 2020. On other platforms, the zombie apocalypse will only be released on November 21, 2021, that is, in a year.
Why will it be exclusive for a whole year ?! In a year, people will already be playing the next CoD and it will be irrelevant.
I am sure that in a week everyone will forget about this regime.
I have a PlayStation, but I’m really sorry for the Xbox and PC gamers. Exclusives are cancer.
Developer Modern Warfare Taylor Kurosaki said fans that platform exclusivity issues are “tough decisions that go beyond our salary level.”
