It must be said that Joe Biden has a painful relationship to this terrible pathology, which took away his beloved son Beau, who died in 2015 of brain cancer at only 46 years old.
A unit for the fight against cancer
When he was vice-president of Barack Obama, Joe Biden had already been placed in command of a unit in the fight against cancer, aimed at coordinating the various services of the American state in research and care.
On Thursday February 4, our President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron also unveiled his new ten-year strategy to fight cancer (2021-2030) in France. With new budgetary resources, it aims to significantly reduce the burden of cancer in the daily lives of French people.
19 million new cases of cancer were diagnosed in 2020, according to the International Health Organization (WHO).
