Earth’s rotation causes the process of day and night

Part of the earth will be dark at nightfall. Meanwhile, the earth will be bright during the day.

Night occurs because the sun does not illuminate the earth. Conversely, daylight can occur because the earth gets exposure to sunlight.

Please note, planet Earth is not surrounded by the sun. However, the earth and other planets that surround the sun are the center of the solar system. So, how is it possible for the earth to experience light and dark if the earth revolves around the sun?

So, day and night can occur because the earth rotates on its axis. This phenomenon is called the earth’s rotation or rotation of the earth.

The earth rotates quickly so that we who are on earth do not feel the rotation. In one rotation, the earth takes 24 hours to rotate. For that, one day is 24 hours.

This rotation causes the parts of the earth to alternately point towards and away from the sun. The part of the earth that is away from the sun will experience night. It is marked by sunset
