Italy coach Roberto Mancini has just drawn up the list of 38 called up for the first challenges valid for qualifying for the next World Cup. There are three Napoli players – Meret, Di Lorenzo, Insigne – but one of the best Italian players is missing: Politano. Eight league goals, eleven season goals, second best striker of the team after Insigne and Lozano at 13. The former Inter is playing very well, scores and provides assists, is one of the best winger in the league yet has not been taken into consideration.
In attack there are Bernardeschi, in difficulty with Juve, the usual Grifo, 7 goals with Freiburg, and El Shaarawy, who has just returned to Rome after his experience in China. Apparently, Mancini has chosen to rely on the players of his “group” and in fact has only called up two new faces: Ricci and Toloi. But Politano would have deserved a chance. Maybe it will come in the future.
