The AFA decided that the parties move to the province of Cuyo thanks to the control of the pandemic with respect to other areas.
A whole problem were these semifinals for the AFA Professional League, which had to be suspended for a week due to the wave of COVID-19 cases in the country. Thus, the two crosses ended up being played on a Monday, in the middle of a FIFA date, at unusual times and at venues that caused some controversy.
Since the regulation warned that both parties had to be in a neutral scenario. But since three of the four classifieds are from Buenos Aires, it was expected that the chosen stadiums will be in PBA, at least Boca and Racing. Why make them travel in this context? However, the organization decided to move the meeting to San Juan due to the control of the pandemic in the province of Cuyo.
What’s more, strong protocols will be established for the four campuses:
- Charter flights for teams and staff.
- Sanitary bubbles for each delegation.
- Total sanitation of the stadium between one game and the other.
- Nominated access with mandatory PCR for each person accredited to the party.
- Sanitized hands with alcohol, measurement of body temperature and special care in social distancing.
On the other hand, the curious schedule of the clash between Xeneize and the Academy also aroused criticism, which was answered by Marcelo Tinelli, head of the LPF: “Racing asked us to change the game with Boca for Monday so that Arias and Mena arrive and the three rivals accepted it. If later Chile did not leave them and enforce the regulations, it is not a problem for the League”.
