Suara.com – Rarely motion or exercising be one of the factors that trigger the disease diabetes mellitus type 2. This condition occurs due to a lack of muscle activity in capturing insulin and break down glucogen in the blood.
Internal medicine specialist dr. Umar Nur Rachman, Sp.PD., explained that the glycogen that is successfully broken down by the muscles will turn into energy. So that blood sugar from blood vessel can be absorbed by cells and there is no accumulation of blood sugar.
“If it’s disturbed, it can happen insulin resistance. So insulin cannot be absorbed and sugar remains in the blood,” said Umar’s doctor in the Hari webinar Diabetes The world with Strong Nation, Tuesday (16/11/2021).
Meanwhile, sports activities can stimulate muscles to work to break down glucose into energy, so blood sugar levels can drop.
