As a contributor to Kompasiana (kompasianer) who has only been contributing for the last 1 year, I cannot ignore the strange changes I have observed lately.
Articles in headline, or what we often call the main article column, seems to be getting less and less visitors. Maybe this is a personal feeling, however, I’m sure I’m not alone in feeling this way.
It wasn’t just my articles that were affected, but also articles from senior contributors who are usually the main stars on this platform.
Before I realized this phenomenon, the main articles in Kompasiana were usually very popular. In fact, articles with very relevant and interesting topics can gather hundreds to thousands of visitors in a short time.
However, recently, everything has changed, and the articles headline seems to have difficulty holding the reader’s attention as is usually the case.
The question is:
Why does this happen?
Is there any explanation “scientific” or other factors that influence this change?
Algorithm Changes
One of the factors that maybe contributed to a decrease in visits to the article headline is a change in the platform algorithm.
Algorithms are mathematical rules that control how content is discovered and displayed to users. These changes may affect how far your articles appear in headline and how easy it is for readers to find them.
Algorithms are an important part of the content ecosystem online. They are designed to filter and display the most relevant and useful content for users.
