The Italian strategist is a free agent after negotiating a mutually agreed termination contract with Tottenham in March.

He was at an award ceremony in Arezzo tonight and spoke at a press conference about his plans for the future.

“I still want to train, that passion never goes away. If it were like that, I would have to look inside myself and think that it was no longer right to continue doing this profession,” Conte said.

“Having said that, I’m not spasmodically looking for a new job either. If something important and serious came up that motivated me, then I would consider it, in Italy or abroad.”

The former Juventus and Inter manager turns 60 next month and was asked how he assesses his most recent experience in the Tottenham dugout, which lasted just 15 months.

“The last experience, like all really, had some positive things and others less. The experience was wonderful, we did our best and gave everything we had.

“When I arrived, the team was in eighth or ninth place, but we qualified for the Champions League. Then this season, with the team in fourth position, I decided that we should part ways with Tottenham. Some had decided to settle for less.”

Tottenham plunged down the table after Conte’s departure and ultimately finished the Premier League season in eighth place, missing out on European qualification.

Conte has been linked with numerous roles in Italian football, including the vacant bench on the Scudetto winners. Naples or a possible return to Juventus.

Inter is no longer an option, as Simone Inzaghi will be confirmed after reaching the Champions League final.
