In 2004, they stayed in Taiwan for two years and moved three times before returning to Canada because they wanted to return to their careers.

In 2009, the couple returned to Taiwan. Martin said there were “no good places” to live in Canada. The only free place was in the north. Martin shared that Taiwan has a low cost of living and a very high salary It is one of the few places in Asia that meets both conditions at the same time.

However, Martin also said that the main disadvantage of living in Taiwan is the language barrier, and that Chinese is a very difficult language to learn.
