India is expected to face the third wave of the Corona virus pandemic. The reason is that many Indians ignore health protocols after the government decided to lift the regional quarantine policy.
Randeep Guleria, director of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, said infections were expected to increase in the next 12 to 16 weeks.

Randeep said the peak of the third wave of infections is expected to be quite massive given the existence of the highly contagious Delta variant. This virus is also the cause of the devastating second wave of Corona in India.

He said the Delta variant also continues to pose a high risk for the vast majority of residents who have not been vaccinated.
For information, the confirmed cases of the corona virus in India have surpassed 29 million positive cases, with more than 380,000 deaths.
