The relationship between blood groups and diabetes

Launching from Kompas.com, a 2020 study published in International Journal of Chronic Diseases, found that in a community cohort of 424 people, blood type O was associated with a reduced risk of type 2 diabetes, while type B blood was associated with an increased risk.
While research published in Journal Public Health Genomics in another 2020, studied 750 participants and found that the risk of developing type 2 diabetes was higher in those with blood type A.
It didn’t stop there, research published in International Journal of Hematology and Blood Disorders in 2017 from Pakistan, researchers found similar results.
The researchers revealed that in 2,258 college students, participants with blood type B were more likely to develop diabetes than those with other blood types.
On the other hand, research published in Journal of Diabetology in March 2015, showed that of 82,104 women, participants with blood type O had a lower risk for type 2 diabetes.
Meanwhile, owners of blood type A and blood type B have been shown to have a higher risk of developing diabetes.
However, the above research on the relationship blood type and diabetes still very contradictory, further research is needed.
