October 8th, 2024 – After the “Valais Week”, from which we could have taken home more than just 3 out of 6 points, there are signs of an upward trend at EHC Olten. The shape curve slowly points upwards. Nevertheless, there are still deficiencies in defense and chance evaluation. With Noah Delémont we have a temporary reinforcement in defense. He can certainly pass on some of his know-how before he is back in the Biel squad.
The opponent, EHC Basel, is in second place in the table after 8 games, level on points with the leading HC La Chaux-de-Fonds. Sports director Kevin Schläpfer can look forward to an almost unchanged squad this season. The contracts in the key positions (coaching duo: Himelfarb/Zeiter, goalies: Henauer/Haller, foreign duo: Stukel/Supinski) could be extended. This brings a calm component to the team, because, like EHC Olten with Biel, the Basel team also has to rely on juniors from their partner teams, Bern and Langenthal.
The EHCB lost its last home game on Saturday against Visp. The EHCO won its game against Visp away from home last Tuesday. A good omen for the “Hauensteinderby”.
