Who will be the Autumn Champion? – Preliminary round in the 1st Women’s Bundesliga

Schwabhausen. With the home games of the Bavarian clubs TSV Schwabhausen and SV DJK Kolbermoor, an interesting preliminary round of the 1st Women’s Bundesliga ends on Sunday, in which we experienced numerous exciting games at a sometimes very high level and some big surprises. Schwabhausen and Kolbermoor’s opponents are the teams ESV Weil and TTG Bingen/Münster-Sarmsheim who are fighting for league status and come as outsiders. But you shouldn’t underestimate them if you don’t want to experience a nasty surprise. If they beat Bingen, Kolbermoor would go into the winter break as autumn champions.

Sunday, 2 pm: TSV Schwabhausen – ESV Weil

Before the last game of the old year, TSV Schwabhausen is sixth in the table with 5:7 points and could still be fifth with a clear home win against ESV Weil. In any case there is no danger of relegation, especially as the quality is there, not only against the boys from the cellars, but also against the top teams. Unlike ESV Weil, who are at the bottom of the table with 2:10 points and absolutely need points to be able to face the somewhat more relaxed second part of the season.

TSV recently drew against Langstadt and lost 6-3 to Berlin after a respectable performance. Winter and his partners enter the game as favorites without wanting to bet on the result. The South Baden women already have a well-tested and balanced squad and could certainly make a surprise on a good day. Most recently they had no chance to give Böblingen at 1: 6, but then almost snatched a point away from Weinheim (4: 6).

“We are very optimistic about our last home game and will try to win,” said Schwabhausen coach Alexander Yahmed. “We are looking forward to Weil, because those have always been good games with a good atmosphere.”

“The match against Schwabhausen is extremely important for us. We want to do everything possible to bring home at least one point to improve our situation in the table,” says Doris Spiess, department head at ESV. “In advance, however, it is difficult to predict. If we’re all fit, the odds are 50:50. Anything could happen. It will probably be a match in which form will decide during the day.”

Sunday, 2 pm: SV DJK Kolbermoor – TTG Bingen/Münster-Sarmsheim

In Kolbermoor, the preliminary round ends at the autumn championship. If the hosts live up to their role as favorites and beat the Rheinhessen side, they will start the new year in top position.

On the other hand, if points were shared with TTG, ttc berlin eastside would be autumn champions – both teams would then have the same number of points and the women from the capital would have the better game ratio. The Weinheim women also finished the preliminary round with 9:5 points, but are behind Berlin due to the game difference. You can only stay ahead of Kolbermoor if Oberbayern don’t win against Bingen. An interesting constellation tops the chart and the TTG can tip the scales.

Of course, the latter could use a point or more in the fight to stay in class. Most recently, they surprisingly won in Schwabhausen (6:4), but then lost to the Berliners without a chance (1:6). SV DJK came to the almost mandatory 5:5 in the Bayern derby against Schwabhausen, but then snatched both points from Berlin with a 6:4 victory.

“It’s not the first time you’ve heard this this season, it depends on each team’s line-up,” says Kolbermoor coach and department head Michael Fuchs. “We plan to have all our players on site on Sunday.

If Bingen plays full, they are very dangerous for us. And they have players who are really hot runners, where pretty much anything can go both ways.” Fuchs describes the goal as follows: “Obviously we’d be happy about the fall league, but that’s not something that has priority for us – we want put in a good performance and we’ll see what comes out on Sunday.”

“It is nothing new when I say that we are outsiders against Kolbermoor, who still have ambitions to win the autumn championship, although of course this also depends on Kolbermoor’s line-up,” says TTG boss Joachim Lautebach. “We have our players on site, but the final decision on lineup will be made shortly.” Lautebach adds: “Obviously, the team wants to continue the good performances of the past games. The players are in a good mood and want to try everything. Above all, our goal is to keep the penultimate place, which of course also depends on the match between Weil and Schwabhausen.”
