“If someone from the Latvian Startup Association “Startin.LV” could predict future “unicorns” with a guarantee, we would become very successful investors. In reality, no expert, not even an experienced venture capital investor, can name the next billion-dollar startup from Latvia.”
Thus, in response to “Delphi Business“startin.LV representative Alīna Silina answers with a smile to the request to predict who are the Latvian start-ups that are moving towards this coveted and fame-bearing status.
It should be reminded that a company whose value has exceeded one billion dollars thanks to the attraction of investments is called a unicorn in the startup environment. Latvia has only got one “unicorn” so far.
She also explains why a startup company does not necessarily have to become a “unicorn” in terms of the country’s economic benefits and highlights this year’s current events.
