— Handling employee complaints will remain a priority, especially any indications of non-payment or underpayment of wages.. Adequate pay for work performed is a basic employee right. One of the most important tasks will also be examining the circumstances and causes of accidents at work – fatal, serious and collective. This, of course, results from the specific nature and objectives of the National Labor Inspectorate’s activities, says Katarzyna Łażewska-Hrycko, Chief Labor Inspector.
However, new audit topics will also appear next year. Who will they cover?
In the field of technical work safety, new inspection activities are planned in the following sectors:

PIP also draws attention to, among others: to amend the Act on bridging pensions, which will come into force on January 1, 2024. Thanks to these provisions, people who performed work in special conditions only after December 31, 1998 will also be able to benefit from early retirement. The inspection announces that it will continue to inspect the list of workplaces where work is performed in special conditions or of a special nature, as well as inspections of the records of employees performing such work.
The National Labor Inspectorate’s action program also indicates what planned inspections individual sectors of the economy must take into account (these are inspections that do not result from employee complaints, but from the plans of the National Labor Inspectorate itself). Traditionally, sectors will be checked in terms of health and safety, including: mining, healthcare, trade. More detailed activities will also be carried out to verify, among others:
In turn, the legal protection of labor includes, among others: checks:
