With rising tensions and competition between China and ASV, both countries are looking for new regions in which to increase their influence. In recent years, several rounds of this struggle between hegemonists have already taken place in Southeast Asia, but now it’s time for the Middle East.
Both the presence of Xi Jinping in Saudi Arabia, and the meeting with Mohammed bin Salman, and the summit with the Arab and Gulf Cooperation Council countries demonstrated China’s efforts in various formats to strengthen ties with the countries of the region and ensure that these countries do not overtake the United States in the world competition for power, writes the media “The Diplomat”.
By creating such an alliance, both nations gain a strong trading partner who will not question the policies adopted by the countries. A key outcome of the summit, which focused on trade deals on oil, technology, infrastructure and security, was an agreement that the two countries would not interfere in each other’s domestic politics.
