The chances of winning the Powerball lottery grand prize are only 1 in 292.2 million, so the probability of a winner in future draws is very low.
Despite this omen, a Texas resident has claimed a Powerball prize worth $2 million.
On November 12, the winner, who chose to remain anonymous, purchased their ticket at a HEB Food supermarket located at 10710 Research Blvde in Austin.
According to the Texas Lottery, the winner is a resident of Manor in Central Texas.
The winning ticket featured Power Play and matched all five numbers, except for the red Powerball number.
This isn’t the first time someone in Austin has won a lottery prize. On Nov. 15, a resident won a winning $1 million jackpot ticket in the Texas lottery through a scratch card.

How can you collect your Powerball lottery prize?
The Powerball lottery prize can be withdrawn in two ways: in a single exhibition or by receiving money for 30 years.
By choosing the option to collect the prize in one payment, the last winner of the Powerball lottery, who won a total amount of 2,040 million dollars, will receive 1,030 million dollars.
However, after deducting federal and local taxes, the prize would have been $635 million.
On the other hand, if the Powerball lottery prize winner decides to receive the prize for 30 years, the total would be $1.0285 million after the corresponding taxes have been paid.
That said, the winning person will receive $44.8 million annually for the next 30 years.
