Who wants to buy the former gendarmerie barracks in Montluçon (Allier), put up for sale by the State?

In the rue du Chevau-Fug, in Montluçon, we remember the remarks of the gendarmes on their old barracks: water leaks, dilapidated and degraded premises… A commander had even described the barracks as “the worst in the region”. about ten years ago.

The gendarmes will (finally) move to Montluçon

While the military moved in 2018 to new buildings located in Hauts de Buffon, the State put the entire old site near the hospital up for sale, through a call for tenders. tenders, divided into two lots.

Several buildings on the site

The first lot is a plot of 2,071 square meters on which are built a workshop-garage and an office building of 309 square meters.

The second lot, along rue Pamparoux, comprises, on two plots of 3,012 and 2,247 square meters, a pavilion of 109 square meters and two residential buildings themselves composed of thirty-four apartments of different sizes. The call for tenders is made without a minimum price indicated. It is possible to make an offer on one lot or both.

An annex of the hospital had been imagined

It had been envisaged for a time that this site host an annex of the hospital. Daniel Dugléry, then mayor of Montluçon, had planned to install the psychiatric center of the hospital there or to arrange a car park there. The project would no longer be in the pipeline. A letter dated October 23, 2020 was thus sent to the municipality of Montlucon and to Montlucon Community by the State services to ask them if they wished to buy the site, but neither of the two communities wished to exercise their right of priority. .

Visits have already taken place

“We can confirm that visits have taken place, the property arousing real interest”, indicates Erwan Le Reste, departmental correspondent for the State’s real estate policy, adding that “confidentiality reasons” prevent him from “transmitting information on the offers received by the Land Management Unit”.

The deadline for receipt of applications is 1 March 2022 at noon.
