who to help young companies?

The Synergie business incubator in Thionville-Yutz is no longer. The young companies, housed in the premises of the large building in the Cormontaigne area, had to return the keys to the Moselle Chamber of Commerce, which had operated the site for years. Soon, the Thionville Portes de France agglomeration community will take over, to house its own services. On the sidelines of this situation, the Synergie Club association is also paying the price for what its president bluntly calls “a monstrous mess”.

Synergie Club is the small network intended for young local companies and in particular for those which until then passed through the services of the CCI to launch and develop. “The CCI could only have the nursery label if there was an animation behind it. And we were part of this animation through our activities! », Recalls Christian Delprez. “We intervened in support, by organizing thematic evenings and business dating to help young business leaders. It was a real thing more than putting young leaders in contact with professionals who were well off, ”he says.

“Shunned like barefoot”

The story has lasted for years, many companies have started their launch through the nursery box. And then the situation deteriorated. At the end of 2019, beginning of 2020, the CCI informed Synergie Club that it would no longer be able to make a room available to it once a month as was usual. Officially, the priority was to use the rooms for vocational training. Unofficially, the disengagement had already started. “We have been turned away like barefoot”, dares Christian Delprez.

The president of the association has not yet fully resumed contact with the members. The covid is there, adding distance and questions. “However, our network has its raison d’être. There is a huge business to do with border countries, neighboring regions… ”The Thi’Pi digital hub has offered to host Synergie club meetings but nothing is official yet. If the association does not manage to bounce back in the coming months, “we will integrate into another structure”, indicates Christian Delprez. With palpable disappointment.
