Former president who now serves as deputy head of the Security Council RussiaDmitry Medvedev, indicates Ukraine will probably disappear from the world map in two years.
Medvedev expressed this indication when he mentioned the energy cooperation plan between Ukraine and the United States through the Telegram social network on Wednesday (15/6).
“I saw a report that said Ukraine wanted to receive LNG (liquefied natural gas) under a loan agreement from their foreign master with delivery payments for two years,” Medvedev was quoted as saying. AFP.
“And who said Ukraine will be on the world map in the next two years?”
Britannica reports, Medvedev is a long-time ally of Putin.
He was the president of Russia who served from 2008 to 2012. Prior to taking the presidency, he was the leader of Putin’s presidential campaign in 2000.
Medvedev also briefly became Putin’s chief of staff in 2003. He was then appointed deputy prime minister in 2005.
Meanwhile, US President, Joe Biden, did sign the 2022 Ukraine Democracy Defense Borrowing-Lease Act early last year.
The law will make it easier for the US to send military aid to Ukraine. However, it is still unclear whether fuel or LNG products are included in the agreement or not.
Russia itself accuses the US and NATO of continuing to seek to wage war by providing weapons to Ukraine. The provision of these weapons came after Russia invaded the country in February.
