Been a PPU office to the Ministry

From the archives of the Kompas Daily, September 2, 1999, it was noted that the building was the office of the 1999 General Elections Committee (PPU) Secretariat.

Not only that, the building, which is located on Jalan Letjen MT Haryono, was also the office of the Ministry for the Acceleration of Development in Eastern Indonesia.

Currently, the ministry is called the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Villages, and Transmigration.

Closed 2007

The magnificent building was officially closed to the public in 2007 because it was suspected that the building was tilted several degrees.

This condition is considered to endanger the safety of the occupants of the building.

The construction was considered problematic from the start, but neither the owner nor the Building Supervision and Control Agency (P2B) were willing to provide an explanation.

The management of Saidah Tower, PT Gamlindo Nusa denied that the building was tilted.

According to them, the building was intentionally vacated until the tenant’s lease period expired and the rental scheme to the next prospective tenant is one building as a whole.

According to local residents, there had been renovation activities in mid-2015, but the renovations stopped after two months, quoted from Kompas Daily, August 3, 2016.

It was about to be taken over by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) had planned to take over the utilization of Saidah Tower in 2016.

However, this plan failed to materialize.

Until now, Saidah Tower is still not functioning and looks stalled. The building is also surrounded by a tin fence and guarded by several people.

Previously, due to its strategic location, there were many offers of entry, including from Satyagama University in 2011.

However, the ownership transfer process did not occur because the original owner was not willing to show pictures of the building structure.
