Who owns the MSI treasure? Us. This is how FdI got its hands on the Foundation’s treasure chest

Silence has fallen on the financing of the Alleanza Nazionale Foundation to far-right groups and associations in the anti-vax area during the pandemic. After the investigations by Domani and Repubblica that reported the expenses of the safe that manages the assets of the former MSI, then Alleanza Nazionale, by the Prime Minister’s party Georgia Meloni no comment. And he quietly defended himself by emphasizing that “it is not a problem of Fratelli d’Italia because all the souls of the right who refer to the MSI sit in the Foundation”. And he immediately cited the presence on the board of directors of the organization of faces such as the former mayor of Rome John Alemanno or of the Forza Italia senator Maurizio Gasparri.

But this is a very weak defense: because if you look closely at the resumes of those who not only sit on the board of directors, but also sit in the controlled company that manages the properties (the real treasure), it clearly emerges that Fratelli d’Italia has had its hands in the heart of the Foundation and its vital nodes for some time. An action that began well before the victory in the 2022 elections that brought the party leader to the main seat of Palazzo Chigi.

“From the AN Foundation funding to neo-fascists, Meloni should clarify”: PD and AVS bring the case to Parliament

by Antonio Fraschilla

The funding to Forza Nuova and the associations of the anti-vax galaxy dates back to 2021, a few days before the attack on the Cgil for which he was convicted Roberto Fiore: the same person who, according to a report from the Guardia di Finanza, acted as an intermediary with the Foundation to get funds to companies behind which he was the one. In 2023, instead, there was the 30 thousand euro support to Acca Larentia, a far-right association linked to Casapound, for the purchase of the headquarters. Who was at the top of the Foundation in this period of time, between 2021 and 2023?

Since 2017, the Foundation has been chaired by Joseph Valentineformer undersecretary of Justice in the Berlusconi government of 2005, very close to Meloni and the President of the Senate Ignatius LaRussa. Valentino was the name chosen by Fdi, at the beginning of the Meloni government, to enter the Superior Council of the Judiciary as a lay person: only to then step back after the controversy over an investigation linked to the ‘ndrangheta that was archived. Until 2022, the vice president of the Foundation was the senator of Fdi Roberto Menia and the current undersecretary is secretary Andrea Delmastro: in addition, La Russa himself and the current Minister of Agriculture also sat on the board of directors Francesco Lollobrigida brother-in-law of the prime minister. Today the prime minister’s sister, Arianna, sits on the board of directors.

This is how the An Foundation helped the far right and No vax before the attack on the Cgil: the transfers to Forza Nuova members

But it is by looking at the real estate branch that we understand how the Foundation was, and is today, in the hands of the Melonians. Returning to the thread that connects the institution to Forza Nuova, in 2021 Fiore’s party had a headquarters in via Giovanni Paisiello 40, in a building owned by the Foundation: it is a property of great value from the donation to An by the countess Colleoni. That donation also included the famous house in Monte Carlo that cost Gianfranco Fini a first-degree conviction for money laundering.

In via Paisiello there is the property that brought in the most to the countess in rent, and which instead was in fact occupied, free of charge, by Forza Nuova: there was also the headquarters of a cultural association of a Fn leader who received 3 thousand euros from the Foundation.

Well, all the real estate assets, including the FdI offices and the headquarters on Via della Scrofa, are managed by the Italimmobili company: the true treasure of the Foundation. On the balance sheet it has a value of 20 million, but on the market the assets could be worth much higher figures. And it is here that men of strict FdI faith have been sitting for a long time: today the company is chaired by Roberto PetriEmilian leader of FdI and husband of the senator Marta Farolfi. The second member of the board of directors of the subsidiary is Antonio Tiscialso a director of FdI, in Basilicata. The third and last member of the board is Philip Miloa face linked to La Russa and the world of Ligresti: today he sits on the party’s guarantee committee and on the board of directors of Secolo d’Italia. Before becoming undersecretary, Delmastro also sat in Italimmobili and until 2020 the lawyer Consuelo of the Balzoappointed in 2020 to Anac and previously a candidate for the Senate for Fdi.

In short, for years the prime minister’s party has effectively managed the AN Foundation: even when it financed fascist and anti-vax groups. And so it could not have known who the money was going to or who was occupying its properties?
