Thanks to that, Anthoni Salim and his family are currently in 3rd place on the Forbes list of RI’s richest people, just below R. Budi & Michael Hartono; and the Widjaja family.

Anthoni himself is the youngest of three children of the late Liem Sioe Liong or Om Liem, a tycoon who for decades was very close to President Suharto. Thanks to Uncle Liem, there is Indomie.

In 1998, just after President Suharto was removed from power, the Salim family lost control of the Bank of Central Asia (BCA bank).
