Melita Vuinovich, Special Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Russia, called the situation with mycoplasma infection under control. There is no threat of a pandemic, what about reports TASS.
“Literally every week, the National Influenza Institute in St. Petersburg and Rospotrebnadzor communicate through the worldwide system, where they report what has been detected and how many cases there are. So this is all under supervision. We do not currently see any significant increase in Russia that would indicate any kind of outbreak,” a WHO representative confirmed.
The WHO does not see a new global threat, but does not deny that the infection “dangerous primarily for children and vulnerable categories”. EADaily recalls that the number of cases of infection has increased noticeably in recent months in China, and then in Europe.
But Melita Vuinovich still urged Russians to protect themselves from respiratory pathogens, especially during their peak season.
