On the scene of a devastating disaster that not even the firefighters could foresee, and in a situation where it was difficult for paramedics to access, citizens contributed to the initial response.

He threw the wounded and ran, and everyone jumped out onto the street, holding on to CPR for the unconscious patients.

◀ Report ▶

A situation where people have collapsed in various places within just 2-30 minutes of the accident.

Four citizens struggle to walk with the patient’s arms and legs.

As soon as they managed to get out of the chaos, they decided to save another fallen citizen.

Move the patient from the narrow alley to the curb so that the rescue team can carry the patient comfortably.

“If you take out the people from below, the people from above will fall again …”

The street has literally become a field hospital.

Paramedics have started CPR, but there are still many patients left unattended.

Then a citizen comes forward.

“Among those who came from the military who know how to perform CPR? There are no people. Please help me.”

Some citizens look, raise their hands, approach patients and begin CPR.

“Nurses, doctors … If there are nurses or doctors, please come out and help us.”

Many citizens intervened voluntarily and participated in cardiopulmonary resuscitation under the guidance of 119 paramedics.

“Three friends were able to do some CPR … I did a lot of (CPR) for people who kept falling as they moved. There were too many people lying on the street …”

[심폐소생술 참여 시민]

“119 came and asked us how many minutes (CPR) had been performed. We did it for about 40 minutes. So if you don’t, try 20 more minutes and ask them to give you a signal.”

When CPR is performed, join your hands and press the top of the patient’s sternum at right angles to the top of the sternum, twice per second, approximately 30 times, while performing artificial respiration.

Immediate CPR on a patient who has had cardiac or respiratory arrest can more than triple the patient’s survival rate.
