Who kneels for Afghan women?

On August 15, the Taliban entered a Acceptance. In an instant, we were faced with a dramatic humanitarian crisis, unmanageable with the usual slogans. Since August 15, newspapers, social networks and TVs have been informing citizens about what is happening in Afghanistan. Between humanitarian corridors and the return to sharia law, the country is once again in total chaos. Interpreters, collaborators, journalists, civilians, a few thousand Afghans and soldiers have already managed to leave the land of hell, but unfortunately there are many more who find themselves in the clutches of Islamic possessed.

As is well known, it is women who pay the highest price for this change of power women. “We are committed to respecting the rights of women under the system of sharia“Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said during his first press conference on camera favor. A silly press conference, aimed at deceiving the whole world. Because their intentions are different (women can no longer leave the house , going to school, dressing in Western style etc) and because their violent face has never changed (day and night they kill civilians and state officials as if they were flies).

But understanding their cheap tactic doesn’t take a genius. Just hearing “women”, “sharia” and “rights” in the same sentence must sound more than one alarm bell. But this didn’t happen to Giuseppe Conte who believed the Taliban were well seated in the Presidential Palace. Giuseppi, in fact, found in their words, in the shootings, in the round-ups a “quite relaxed attitude” so much that he felt obliged to enter into a dialogue with these subjects.

And if the former prime minister believed it for a moment (he backed down later), i Taliban no. We explain. After the “relaxing attitude” – so as not to seem too good – they wanted to clarify: “Under the rule of the Taliban, Afghanistan will not be a democracy but it will follow sharia law. There will be no democratic system at all because it has no basis in our country. We will not discuss what kind of political system we will have to apply in Afghanistan because it is clear: it is the law of the Sharia and that’s it. ”These words are unequivocal and shamefully true.

Here, all this talk to say what? To highlight a deafening silence. From feminists and the left, only a few monotonous messages arrived “let’s help Afghan women”, “let’s open humanitarian corridors,” let’s welcome them. ” inhuman conditions in which women are forced to live. We were convinced that from August 15 onwards we would find hands scribbled with the hashtag Afghanistan on all social networks. kneel before this tragedy. And instead … nothing. A few condemnations here and there, a few tweets of solidarity, a few thoughts of the evening without ever saying that word: islam. No one has been able to say that Islamic fundamentalism is killing thousands of people. No one has knelt for these women who just want to be free. Who no longer want to be treated like beasts.

Ps: this evening the Serie A championship. I have not seen bands with the flag of Afghanistan, I have not seen footballers kneeling. But I have not even seen the outrage of politics at the lack of it all.
