Yesterday, the president of SFZ Ján Kováčik avoided any details about adepts for the national team coach. He only emphasized that they were two foreign adepts.
One of them could and should be an experienced Czech helmsman Ivan Hašek, in the past the coach of the national team at our western neighbors.
It remains unclear who might be hiding behind the second alternative. According to our information, he should be an Italian coach, while the former captain of the Slovak national team, Marek Hamšík, should also play a role in his selection.
Specifically, it should be Francesco Calzona, a 53-year-old former assistant to Maurizio Sarri in Naples at a time when “Marechiaro” was also working under Vesuvius.
Francesco Calzona, UEFA Pro license holder and a native of Vio Valentia, previously assisted Maurizio Sarri in Empoli. He later worked at Cagliari Calcio with Eusebius De Francesco and last summer returned to the SSC as part of Luciano Spalletti’s implementation team.
