Ralph Ineson will play Galactus in the ‘Fantastic Four’ movie
Marvel already has its new great villain. After the departure of Jonathan Majors, who was called to be so with his character of Kang the Conqueror, the studio was looking for a new great antagonist and an actor to give him life. And it seems that he has finally found it in the figure of Ralph Ineson, who will play Galactus, the devourer of worlds in the next Fantastic Four movie. An actor with plenty of experience in villainy but who has always remained in the background, this is his story.
Born in Leeds in 1969, Ineson started relatively late in the world of cinema, already at 40 years old. He had previously been a teacher and even a cricket coach, but in 2008 he decided to change his profession and move into the world of acting. Although that year he debuted on the small screen with the series New Tricks, his big debut in the cinema was none other than the Harry Potter saga. In the last two installments of the saga Ineson gave life to Amycus Carrow, a fearsome Death Eater who helps Draco Malfoy in his assault on Hogwarts and fights against Dumbledore’s army, Harry and company on Voldemort’s side. His first big role already anticipated a villainous character, although it would not be the only one he would have in his career.

After debuting in the feature film, Ineson had a brief appearance in Game of Thrones, in which she would play Dagmer Barbarrota, Pyke’s master of arms in the Iron Islands and one of the bravest warriors in the service of Balon Greyjoy, the father of Theon. However, it was in the cinema that he found his next great role, that of the terorrific and orthodox father of The Witch, the horror film by Robert Eggers that put both Anya Taylor-Joy and the director himself on the map, as well as grant Ineson the occasional award nomination.

After The Witch, Ineson began to attract the attention of several directors and appear in larger projects, such as Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One or the Chernobyl series. His last two great performances took place relatively recently, in two films as different as The Creator and Misanthrope but that shared traits in common, since they were largely antagonists or characters with a dark but emotional side at the same time, especially that of Misanthrope.
Perhaps because of all this, Marvel did not hesitate to give him a role that had become highly sought after in recent months, to the point of speculation that it was Antonio Banderas who gave him life. Galactus is one of the great villains of Marvel and in particular of The Fantastic Four, who will be integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with this film. Galactus is a giant that has wandered the universe for millions of years in search of planets to devour to maintain its balance and continue to sustain itself. For this he also sends a herald, an advance party chosen by the planet.
For this new Fantastic Four movie, that herald will once again be Silver Surfer, who will be played by actress Julia Garner, while the initial cast already announced is Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as the Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as the Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the Thing. In addition to Ineson, Marverl has also announced the incorporation of actors John Malkovich and Paul Walter Hauser in roles that have not yet been revealed. We will have to wait to find out more news, but for now Marvel has already found its next great villain.
