What is elimination in the Leagues Cup?

The 2024 Leagues Cup will only qualify 32 teams for the next round, a direct elimination.

The binational tournament is in the group stage, which is made up of 15 blocks of three teams, of which only two qualify for the next round.

Does Lionel Messi play in the Leagues Cup?

Following Lionel Messi’s injury at the Copa América, the Argentine did not participate in the first game of the Leagues Cup.

Messi is suffering from ligament problems in his right ankle, which he suffered in the Copa América final on July 14.

“But that ankle is getting better and better. He is in good spirits, as you can imagine, as he must be knowing that he cannot play. He knows that the times are the times, and we must respect them,” he added.
