Ilaix Moriba steal the attention after making a goal for Barcelona against Osasuna. The 18-year-old midfielder is predicted to be the future star of Barcelona.
Barcelona come home with full points from a visit to Osasuna headquarters in the Spanish League continued. Compete at El Sadar Stadium, Sunday (7/3/2021) early morning WIB, Blaugrana won by a score of 2-0.
Barcelona’s second goal in the match was created by Ilaix Moriba in the 83rd minute. He broke into Osasuna’s goal with a shot from in front of the penalty box after receiving a ball from Lionel Messi.
For Moriba, this goal was very historic. It was his first goal for the Barcelona senior team.
Who the hell is Ilaix Moriba?
Born in Guinea on January 19, 2003, Moriba then spent most of his life in Spain. He even holds a Spanish passport and has appeared for the U-17 and U-18 national teams.
Moriba joined La Masia from Espanyol in 2010. Having reportedly been targeted by Juventus, Manchester City and Chelsea, he then signed a professional contract with Barcelona in January 2019.
He signed a contract that runs until 2022 and is worth 1.7 million euros per year. Unmitigated, Barcelona also immediately enclosed Moriba with a release clause worth 100 million euros!
Ilaix Moriba often compared to Paul Pogba. He is said to be not afraid to dribble himself forward instead of passing.
“Physically he is very strong, but he is also a very smart player. Most people do not appreciate this,” said Moriba’s former coach at Juvenil A Barcelona, Denis Sila Puig, to Bleacher Report in 2019.
“Here he is called ‘Barca’s Pogba’ because he is like a young Pogba, but also very intelligent and that is his big potential. He is a top player, no doubt.”
“He’s a little bit, maybe modern in the sense of English football. Nice to have him at Barca.”
Ilaix Moriba then broke into the Barcelona main team in the 2020/2021 season. He made his Barcelona first team debut in a Copa del Rey match against Cornella in January.
Moriba had his first match in LaLiga against Deportivo Alaves in mid-February. Appearing as a starter, Moriba played for 64 minutes and contributed to the assist for Trincao’s goal.
The match against Osasuna is Moriba’s third La Liga appearance this season. His performance received praise from Ronald Koeman.
“Ilaix scored a fantastic goal, the goal that determines the final result,” Koeman said after the match.
“He fights and gets his chance. He is good with the ball and he’s a strong lad. Every time he comes on, he gives something extra to the team regardless of his age and deserves a chance to play.”
“For me, the most important thing is that we are competitive. Age is not important, it’s a matter of what I see on the field,” Koeman said. Ilaix Moriba.
