Who Invented the Space Suit?

SAN FRANCISCO, iNews.id – Fly to outer space need preparation. Because, flying too high, the human body will run out of oxygen. Even if you stay at high altitude, the colder atmosphere will cause hypothermia.

It took the perseverance of a determined Spaniard to figure out how to solve the problem. Named Emilio Herrara he managed to find a space suit. Uniquely, Herrara’s motivation is not to make clothes that can be used to traverse outer space.

Instead, Herrara began building a suit that would allow her to explore the skies in a hot air balloon. Herrara was born into a wealthy family in Granada, Spain in 1879, as quoted from Slash Gears.

Taking inspiration from his military father and Jules Verne’s novels, Herrara became passionate about the fields of aerostatics and aviation. He joined the army as an easy adult and graduated from the Engineer Academy in Guadalajara.

Herrara emphasized his studies in aerostats, the more technical term for hot air balloons. While in the Spanish army, Herrera was part of the Hot Air Balloon Unit. He participated in many successful missions in the northern part of Africa. Herrera is also credited with being the first person to cross the Strait of Gibraltar in a balloon.

Herrera wants to push balloon travel to the limit. Traveling up into the Stratosphere was his goal, but he knew it was one that had dire consequences for many who had tried it before (via The Fanatic).
