WHO head predicted more deadly virus than COVID-19 | Peace

A new virus may emerge in the world that will potentially become more deadly than COVID-19. Evidence of this is evidenced by the data of evolutionary estimates.

They were voiced at the 74th World Health Assembly on May 24 by the head of WHO, Tedros Adan Ghebreyesus. The event was broadcast on website of the organization.

“This is not the last time the world is faced with the threat of a pandemic. According to evolutionary estimates, a new virus will appear, which could potentially be even more deadly than the current one,” said the head of the World Health Organization.

According to Gebreyesus, the main driver of the pandemic is the lack of “international solidarity and desire to share data.”

“If we move along this path, we will come to the same result – the world is not ready, not safe and not just,” the head of the WHO stressed.

He added that maintaining security requires the leadership and engagement of all countries.

The 74th World Health Assembly runs from May 24 to June 1. It focuses on combating the coronavirus pandemic and preventing similar situations in the future.

As reported OBOZREVATEL, earlier the WHO said that the number of deaths from coronavirus in the world three times higherthan official statistics show.
