WHO head criticized booster vaccination (video)

The organization is unhappy with the fact that six times more booster doses of vaccines are used in the world every day than the first vaccinations are made in some countries.

The head of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adanom Ghebreyesus, is confident that there is no need to administer a booster vaccine against coronavirus to healthy adults and children, while the really needy categories still cannot receive the first vaccine. About this he stated in a video posted on the official WHO Twitter page.

According to Tedros Gebreyesus, six times more booster doses of the vaccine are used every day in the world than the first vaccinations given in countries with a low standard of living, which already “smells” of a scandal. He stressed that to date, vaccination has not begun in two countries of the world – North Korea and Eritrea.

Gebreisus stressed that only people with weakened immunity need a booster dose of the vaccine.

As you know, in the United States, the FDA, the American government agency that controls the quality of drugs and food, already approved booster dose of Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines to vaccinate people aged 65+, as well as young people at high risk of infection with COVID-19.

An additional vaccine can be given six months after the first two doses of Moderna vaccine, and for those who received a drug from Johnson & Johnson, a booster dose can be administered as early as two months after the first two shots.

Earlier, WHO stated that next year the world may face a shortage of syringes, and we are talking about the quantity of 1-2 billion pieces. This could lead to a suspension of vaccinations for children and could also force poor countries to reuse needles.

Meanwhile, vaccination continues in Ukraine. By data The Ministry of Health, as of the morning of November 13, 12,121,804 people were vaccinated, and over the last 24 hours, 299,854 vaccinations were made. 12 121 802 citizens received one dose, 8 586 461 people were fully immunized, and in total 20 708 263 vaccinations were made in Ukraine.
