Who gets the dose this week?

In October 2022, the administration of the bivalent vaccine against Covid-19 in Chile. This new dose was incorporated into the National Immunization Program (PNI) and consists of a bivalent vaccine against SARS-COV-2which contains the original strain and Ómicron.

Like previous doses against the virus, this new vaccine is also free. However, to be inoculated, it is necessary to have the complete primary vaccination scheme; that is to say, it is necessary to have the two initial doses of each scheme; or with the single dose of the Cansino vaccine.

Who can receive the bivalent vaccine?

Currently, those who meet any of these conditions can receive the bivalent vaccine:

  • Health personnel.
  • Immunosuppressed people from the age of 12, according to defined conditions or diagnoses.
  • Chronic users from the age of 12.
  • People aged 50 or over.
  • Other prioritized groups, as defined by the authority. (check here the details).

Who can receive the dose this week?

Those who are part of any of the groups mentioned above can receive the dose in any of the following cases:

  • if they received a booster dose against Covid-19 6 months or more ago.
  • If they received your primary vaccination scheme (first and second dose; or single dose of Cansino) 4 months or more ago.

What is the closest vaccination center to my home?

The Ministry of Health has a platform that allows to know the location of all the vaccination centers deployed in the country, with the objective that people find the one closest to their home.

The platform is available at this link (click here)and in the search engine located at the top of the screen, you can filter by region and commune.

The system shows the exact address of the inoculation point, as well as the hours and days of operation.
