The WorldHealth Organization (WHO) announced on the 28th (local time) that the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) mutation found in the UK has spread to 70 countries.
This is 10 more countries than a week ago.
The mutation found in South Africa also spread to 31 countries, an increase of eight countries from a week ago.
In addition, mutations reported in Brazil were reported in eight countries.
“The UK recently shared findings that there is some evidence that the (mutant virus) increases severity,” the WHO said. “But this is preliminary and further analysis is needed to confirm these findings.”
