WHO Categorizes Monkeypox Disease “Medium Risk”

The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Sunday (29/5/2022) that monkeypox (monkeypox) is a “moderate risk” to overall public health at the global level. The WHO announced the risk of monkeypox after a number of cases were reported in countries where the disease is not normally found.

As of May 26, a total of 257 confirmed cases of monkeypox and 120 suspected cases of monkeypox have been reported from 23 member countries that are not endemic to the virus. So far, no casualties have been reported, as reported by Reuters.
