WHO Called Covid-19 Vaccine Without Injection Under Development

JAKARTAWHO said scientists are now developing a model the COVID-19 vaccine latest without needles. If research goes well, this vaccine will be distributed in early 2022.

The results of the current study indicate that six to eight immunizations are ready for further review by the end of next year. However, some of them still require syringes and must be stored at room temperature.

This is clearly explained by Soumya Swaminathan, Chief Scientist of the World Health Organization (WHO). “The experimental vaccine which is currently in the research phase is produced using alternative technology and an alternative braking system, including the later vaccination process by means of the oral, nasal method, and a special patch that is placed on the skin. This method is more suitable for some groups such as pregnant women, “said Swaminathan, as quoted from Foxnews, Thursday (18/3).

Swaminathan added, this latest COVID-19 vaccine is one of 80 vaccine candidates they are currently researching. Some of these are still in the early stages of research and are likely to fail.

Meanwhile, Bloomberg reported, until now there are only 122 out of 195 countries in the world that vaccinate their citizens. This is inseparable from the diminishing availability of vaccines.

“We are very happy with the vaccine that is being developed. But we must continue to increase the number of production and ensure its effectiveness. I think that entering 2022, we will all get better quality vaccines, “said Swaminathan.

Several vaccine manufacturers are also reportedly testing a number of vaccines to deal with the latest mutation of the COVID-19 virus that has emerged in recent months. WHO itself is reviewing whether COVID-19 survivors also need a vaccine.

Scientists have also replaced placebo with the ‘gold standard’ vaccine for ethical reasons in several experimental trials. Another approach being reviewed is to compare three or four drug candidates with a placebo. In another sense, the patient has only a 20% chance of receiving a fake dose.

“We are currently in discussions with several companies that are developing a vaccine to see if we can launch something like a global trial platform,” said Swaminathan.
