Bayer 04 Leverkusen has their backs to the wall in the Europa League after an unfortunate 3-2 home defeat by AS Monaco. In the second leg, a win against the Monegasques is essential to stay in contention. Who is broadcasting the game live?
The Werkself just aren’t getting going this season. After an interim high, there were bankruptcies against AS Monaco in the Europa League and FSV Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga. Due to the disappointing performance in the league and the end of the DFB Cup, the Europa League offers the only real chance to save the season. In the play-offs you have to prevail against the Monegasques and with the 2:3 home defeat in the first leg you have a mortgage.
A blunder by Lukas Hradecky was the main reason for the bankruptcy, but Bayer 04 didn’t cover themselves with glory when it came to converting chances. Nothing is lost yet and the Werkself have the opportunity to turn things around on Thursday.
After the first leg still live at RTL was seen on free TV, this is now the case in the 9 p.m. game between Union Berlin and Ajax Amsterdam. Monaco against Leverkusen, on the other hand, runs exclusively on the paid streaming platform RTL+. Only subscribers can watch the game live. Kick-off is on Thursday 23 February at 18:45.
On free TV or at Sky or DAZN the second leg between Monaco and Leverkusen cannot be seen.
