Who are the PASO candidates, according to their books – Books

The closing of the lists with the candidates that will compete in the PASO left a medley of names that appeared at least once on an editorial cover.

The most obvious case is that of Facundo Manes, who launched his new book “Be human”, co-written with Mateo Niro, at the same time as his candidacy.

In turn, María Eugenia Vidal also presented her memoirs as governor of the province of Buenos Aires in April under the title “My way”.

“It is a book full of self-criticism,” said the official at the time. It was the candidate’s first move into politics after months of silence.

The candidate of the Radical Civic Union is the economist Martín Tetaz, whose last title “Nothing will be the same: a trip to the economy of the future” it is already shaping up to be a best seller.

The author assured that his book has “a lot to do” with what will be debated in the face of the elections.

“It refers to the technological changes that are taking place in the world, with the boom in Artificial Intelligence and the uberization of the economy, which in the country is seen above all with the Free Market. That system is available to the entire financial system, “said the candidate in dialogue with The nation.

According to Tetaz, these two phenomena are transforming the world’s economies and pose new challenges to States: “It is not known what will happen to the monopoly of the State in terms of tax collection and cryptocurrencies, nor will the currency be the monopoly of the States.”.

The first candidate for deputy for the province of Buenos Aires also stands out in one of the two internal lists of the Left Front and the Workers-Unit (FIT-U), Nicolás del Caño, author of “Rebel or precarious. Life and future of youth in times of the IMF”, 2019.

The book talks about job insecurity and the life of youth in Argentina and in the world. It also presents the political career and life story of Del Caño: as a militant, young student and precarious worker.

There are also authors among the candidates from Córdoba

Gustavo Santos, a candidate sponsored by Mauricio Macri during his visit to the province, published a book on tourism, an area of which he was minister, in the midst of a pandemic.

In “The After: Tourism and Humanity” he proposes, together with Michel Durrieu, this activity as a “symbol of the freedom of man and the construction of his destiny”.

The book covers each sector of activity and analyzes its consequences with a deep look in the mirror of society, offering a deep analysis of human behavior and changes in society, its risks and opportunities.

Eduardo Accastello, second on the list for senators of We do for Córdoba, wrote “Local Governments towards the Common Humanity”, a book that, according to the candidate, addresses the experience of local governments, demonstrating their importance.

“Revalue politics: proposal for a better Córdoba”, by Dante Rossi, seeks to vindicate the role of radicalism, in a context where politics generates indifference, and is critical of the management of the then Union for Córdoba.

The book goes along the same lines as the title of the radical candidate Rodrigo de Loredo exposes in “Stop the fall, contributions to manage and stop improvising in Córdoba” whose objective is to be a tool to advance in the integral planning of “the Cordoba of the future”.

“It is a teamwork with which we intend to make a concrete contribution,” said the mayor at the time.
