Who are the brothers of Arath de la Torre, a participant in La Casa de los Famosos, and why is he estranged from one of them?

Arath de la Torre was the protagonist of the most controversial moment of the Elimination Gala of La Casa de los Famosos México 2, after the expected expulsion of Mariana Echeverría. The Hoy presenter had a heated exchange with the youtuber Ricardo Peralta, who during the interviews accused him of homophobia and discrimination.

“A few shows ago you made a very inappropriate comment. You said, ‘Rick, take that off because it makes me uncomfortable to see you like that.’ And today I’m here to explain a concept called gender expression. It is linked to homosexual orientation and also to gender identity.

My gender identity is fluid, non-binary, that is, neither woman nor man. And gender expression responds to how we speak, how we have our mannerisms and how we dress,” said Ricardo Peralta, referring to an occasion when he wore a school-style outfit during a Gala.

Although Ricardo Peralta tried to nullify Arath’s right to reply, he stood in front of him again on the orders of presenter Galilea Montijo, who reminded him that all residents must respect the rules of the reality show.

“I think you are wrong, I have no problem of any kind with anyone, so much so that I have a brother who is homosexual and I respect him and he is my greatest admiration. I think you are trying to confuse people and things. I have always said, even, that ‘in a world of grey clouds, you are the rainbow’. My respects to you always and to your entire community… Don’t try to turn people against me like that, it’s not fair, don’t play like that, don’t play dirty. I have always extended my hand to you,” he responded to Arath, who touched a chord in Ricardo.

A price to pay at La Casa de los Famosos is that the personal lives of celebrities and their close circle are exposed. In the case of Arath de la Torre, who has established a marked division between his career and his personal life, the encounter with Ricardo Peralta generated an interest in his family environment, marked by the estrangement with one of his brothers, Ulises.

Ulises de la Torre is a renowned actor and television presenter who has had an on-and-off relationship with Arath for over 10 years. Like his brother, Ulises has acknowledged that at different stages of his life he has struggled with depression and addictions.

In an interview with Yordi Rosado, Arath de la Torre revealed that their estrangement began due to professional jealousy, since while her career took off, Ulises’s progressed slowly: “I think he thought that money was going to rain down on him, and the truth is that this has been very difficult in the relationship with my brother,” said Arath, who assured that the best thing that has happened to his brother has been distancing himself from him.

In addition to Ulises, Arath has two half-siblings: Patricia and Armando. Paty, as he affectionately calls her, is a regular contributor to the morning show Hoy; in Armando’s case, he leads a life away from the media and keeps his social networks restricted to a very personal circle.

Based on the scant information about Arath’s life, Paty and Armando are the fruit of the presenter’s mother’s second marriage. This aspect of his life has been exposed only a few times by the Hoy host, who after Sunday’s Elimination Gala reaffirmed himself as the leader of Team Mar and one of the strongest candidates for La Casa de los Famosos México 2.
