–Batum, Johannes, Martin, Delaunay, Beka Beka… The French delegation to the Olympic Games in Tokyo travels with athletes and members of the management from Caen, Calvados and the former Lower Normandy;
The Olympic Games will be held from July 23 to August 8, 2021. The French team that will travel to Tokyo (Japan) will be made up of 378 athletes, 212 men (56%) and 166 women (44%), representing 31 federations. In this delegation, eight athletes come from Caen, of Calvados. They will be accompanied by four people in the frames from these territories. Three athletes from the former Lower Normandy also participate.

The sportsmen of Caen
Basketball: Gold in Europe, bronze at the Worlds, Nicolas batum, 13 NBA seasons on the clock, is arguably the best known on the list. Born in Lisieux (Calvados), he then made his US classes Pont-l’Evêque Basket (Calvados) then to Caen BC (Calvados). He currently plays for the Los Angeles Clippers.
Football : Alexis Beka Beka arrived very early in Normandy and developed his footballing talents at Verson (Calvados) then to SM Caen (Calvados). Aged 20, he has been playing at SMC since he was 7, a club with which he made his professional debut in 2019.
Table tennis : Wang Yang |, the best player of the Caen tax incl., participates in the Olympic Games with the Slovak jersey. World number 30, the Chinese-born player, has won 65% of those games this season in pro A.
Basketball: Triple silver medalist at the European Championships, Marine Johannès was born in Lisieux (Calvados) before dribbling with the orange ball at Pont-l’Evêque (Calvados) and Mondeville (Calvados).

Equestrian: Gold medalist at the 2016 Olympic Games in show jumping, team competition, Penelope Leprévost is at the club Saint-Arnoult (Calvados), the International Horse Pole.
Cycling: Guillaume Martin graduated from the EC Condé-sur-Noireau (Calvados). 14th and winner of the assembly standings for the Tour of Spain 2020, he also expresses himself well on the roads of the Tour de France: 12th in 2019, 11th in 2020 and 8th in 2021.
Riding: Born in Deauville (Calvados), Mathieu Billot started riding very young. He holds the record for the number of Grand National Grand Prix won since the circuit was created. To date, he has 13 to his credit.
–Mathieu Billot will represent Deauville (Calvados), his birthplace, at the Olympics.
Rowing: Privel hinkati, born in Hérouville-Saint-Clair (Calvados), train for Benin. He is the creator of his own rowing federation in 2014.
The sportsmen of Lower Normandy
Rowing: Violaine arnoudts, Only 21 years old, takes part in the French quadruple. Born at Alençon (Orne), she is a silver medalist at the World Cup in 2021.
Cycling: 100% Manchovy, Benoit Cosnefroy is born at Cherbourg and run for the club Bricquebec. He has three participations in the Tour de France with the AG2R Citroën team, previously AG2R La Mondiale.
Shoot : Eric Delaunay is born at Saint-Lô (Manche) and licensed to the club Bréville-sur-Mer (Manche). He is currently ranked 3rd in the world in his discipline, Olympic skeet.
Framing
Basket : Richard Billant is the coach of the France 3 × 3 team. Born in Caen (Calvados), he walked the floors of the Caen BC during his youth.
Mountain biking: Maxime Lefèvre is part of the management of the mountain bike team. Born in Caen (Calvados), he is a physiotherapist.
Fencing: Stephane Le Roy is the trainer of French swordsmen. Born in Bayeux (Calvados), he was crowned French individual champion in 1998 and 6 times French team champion.
Gymnastics: Born in Honfleur (Calvados), Kévinn Rabaud has been National Technical Director at the French Gymnastics Federation since October 2020. He was previously DTN at the French Boxing Federation, especially when the delegation won 6 Olympic medals at the Rio Olympics.
