After his election of the new presidium of the Regional Council of Epirusthe eight members of the Regional Committee that replaces the Economic Committee were elected on Tuesday morning.
According to the announcement of the Epirus Regional Governor, two more committees that functioned during the previous self-governing period are to be established, namely the Environment Committee and the Social Affairs Committee.
The opposition elected three members to the Regional Committee, through a joint ballot, while for the majority faction, five of the ten candidates proposed were elected, by Al. Kahrimani.
For the opposition, Yiannis Stefos proposed from his faction for the Regional Committee, himself as a regular member and Savvas Dimitriadis as his deputy. Stefanos Zoumbas nominated himself from his faction as regular and Haris Liouris as deputy. Giorgos Prentzas for the “Popular Rally” proposed himself and Konstantina Zeka-Pashou as his deputy and finally, “Orizontes Epirou” proposed Spyros Yfantis as a regular member and Dimitris Vassilakis as a deputy.
The ten proposed by Al. Kahrimani for the 5 positions in the new Commission from “Livable Development of Epirus” were: Katerina Arletou, Vassilis Vletsas, Prodromos Gaitanidis, Dimitris Gabrelas, Margarita Gogaki, Ioannis Kateris, Giola Mitrokosta, Konstantinos Kitsios, Konstantinos Siaravas, Vassilis Psathas.
The following were elected from the majority faction (without hearing the number of votes each received):
- Yannis Kateris, Konstantinos Kitsios, Konstantinos Siaravas, Vassilis Psathas, Prodromos GaitanidisThe last four voted in a tie and the specific order of ranking was determined by lot.
K. Arletou, V. Vletsas, D. Gabrelas were elected alternates from the majority faction. M. Gogaki, G. Mitrokosta.
From the opposition, regular members were elected:
- Yannis Stefos, Stefanos Zoumbas and George Prentzas (the order of the last two came out after a vote).
Substitutes from the opposition are S. Dimitriadis, T. Zeka and X. Liouris.
