WHITTIER, Calif. – A police officer with the Whittier Police Department is said to be in “good spirits” after being shot on Monday night. The incident occurred near the intersection of Pickering Avenue and Penn Street, with the shooting being reported just before 9 p.m.
Authorities have not released details on how the shooting unfolded, but according to a Facebook post by Whittier Mayor Joe Vinatieri, the officer, who remains unidentified, is currently hospitalized and in good condition.
