Doctors have forbidden David Coverdale to sing because of acute inflammation and swelling of the vocal cords.
On Tuesday night, Whitesnake ended their show in Denver just four songs into the show. The 57-year-old singer was taken to hospital with severe pain in his throat. Eyewitnesses say that Coverdale looked good but sounded terrible.
The day after the incident, Whitesnake issued a statement:
“Unfortunately, Whitesnake had to cancel last night’s concert due to pain in David Coverdale’s vocal cords. Doctors discovered that David has acute inflammation and swelling of his vocal cords. He has been advised to cancel all performances for the next two weeks, then resume was examined. According to the doctor, the swelling is in an early stage and there is no permanent damage. Unfortunately, this has forced Whitesnake to cancel the remaining concerts with Judas Priest.”
