The United States to date sees no sign of arms supplies to Russia from Egypt.
This was stated by the coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, John Kirby, RBC-Ukraine reports with reference to his video briefing.
“We have not seen any indication that Egypt is providing military assistance to Russia in the form of lethal weapons,” Kirby said.
Egypt is now and continues to be an important US security partner, he said. Information about the possible start of Egypt’s military supplies to Russia appeared in US intelligence documents leaked to the network.
As reported, information about Egypt’s plans to supply Russia with up to 40,000 missiles appeared in The Washington Post. According to the publication, the country’s President Abdul-Fattah el-Sisi instructs officials to keep the production and shipment of missiles secret in order to avoid problems with the West.
Later, the Kremlin called “another canard, of which there are now a lot” data on secret deliveries of missiles from Egypt.
