Austrian Weather Forecast: Will Austria See ⁣a White Christmas?

However, clouds will move in from the west throughout‍ the day, reducing sunshine, though the south and southeast should remain relatively sunny. Light to moderate winds are‌ predicted, with potentially stronger ​gusts in the Vienna woods. Temperatures will range from a low of 17°F (-8°C) to a high of 46°F⁣ (8°C).

Sunday’s forecast shows a mix of conditions. While some‍ clearing is expected south of the⁣ main Alpine ridge, the rest of the country will ⁢see cloudy skies with rain and snow above 2625-3609 feet⁣ (800-1100 meters). There’s a ‍risk of freezing rain​ in certain areas, including East Tyrol, southern⁣ Burgenland, and the ​inner Alps. Temperatures will range⁣ from a low of 18°F (-8°C) to a high⁣ of 43°F ‍(6°C).

By Monday, another weather system will bring more precipitation, with⁢ heavy snowfall‍ anticipated on the northern side of the Alps. Lower ‍elevations may see a mix of​ sleet and rain. The precipitation will⁣ spread eastward by evening. Earlier temperatures will range from 23°F (-5°C) to 36°F (2°C), with highs of ⁤34°F (1°C) to 43°F (6°C).

Christmas Eve (Tuesday) will see Austria​ situated between a low-pressure system over the black ‍and Aegean Seas and a high-pressure system‍ over the Bay⁤ of Biscay, resulting in a cold northerly flow. Expect more snowfall, particularly on the northern side of the Alps, with heavy snowfall in some northern areas. The eastern lowlands may also see some snow showers,especially in the afternoon.
