SAN ANTONIO (AP) – Derrick White had 24 points, Dejounte Murray had 22 points and 10 rebounds, and the San Antonio Spurs beat the Washington Wizards 116-99 on Monday night to win consecutive games for the first time this season.
Murray also had eight assists for San Antonio, which had six players scoring double digits. The last time San Antonio won back-to-back games was in late April when they emerged victorious from three games. Jakob Poeltl had 14 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks, becoming the first player selected in the 2016 NBA Draft with 2,000 rebounds and 400 blocks in his career.
Washington ended its two-game winning streak when it closed a four-game road trip 2-2. Bradley Beal had 18 points, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added 17 and Spencer Dinwiddie scored 16 for the Wizards. Daniel Gafford added 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Neither team had an advantage of more than 10 points during the game. San Antonio made only 8 of 18 three-point attempts, but made 53% of their shots.
