Whimsy and jokes – Fredis invites to loud Midsummer chips in the best traditions of “Solstice Nuga”

The traditional Līgo humor show “Salgriežņu Ņuga 2020” will start on June 23 from 9 pm, when both radio and TV will play a playful party in the best Latvian traditions, giving the festival a completely unforgettable dose of laughter. There will be apt jokes by Andris Freidenfelds, Normunds Jakušonoks and Juta Jazz, the loudest Latvian hits performed by the group of like-minded people “Los Taburetos”, peppered toasts and naughty characters, without which Līgo chanters are unimaginable. In addition, guests held in a special festive marinade will be “brought to the table” – the group “Deep Violet” with a showman Nauri Brikmani in the lead.

“Solstice Nuga” is a well-developed tradition and humorous ritual that gives blessing, energy and strength to the next Nuga. The beginnings of the all-Latvian anniversary can be traced back to Radio SWH’s improvised trimming campaigns with “BB Brokastīm” and the group “2 Old Babies” at the beginning of this century. But for almost 10 years now, the swing or “Nuga” has been taking place with the band “Los Taburetos”, when parodies of popular songs are played, as well as sound original songs. The reins of the program are plucked by Andris Freidenfelds himself, but the chutes are complemented by jokes and naughty spicy verses by Normunds Jakušonoks and Juta Jazz. Every time, the guests of the celebration are also surprised by the guest artists, who give “Nuga” a unique power.

Speaking succinctly about this year’s New Year and Andris Freidenfeld, “Los Taburetos will offer a compilation of the best songs of the past 10 years, plus some previously unheard nonsense, using video and new audience opportunities.” You could say, “The Pop of the Tops!”
