According to True Crime Daily, an 18-year-old is facing multiple charges of assaulting two infants, two nurses and a police officer at a Texas hospital while his girlfriend was in labor.
On October 3, around 6:30 pm, the police were called to the Odessa regional hospital because a “man entered the asylum and assaulted patients and medical staff,” according to an employee.
The suspect, Marcus McCowan Jr, was also rumored to have been aggressive towards police officers, which would have led to an altercation between them. He also allegedly attempted to steal a weapon from one of the agents.
Mr. McCowan was in the hospital when his girlfriend gave birth. He reportedly went to the station where the nurses were and grabbed the arm of one of them. He would ask him to leave and he would start running down the hall.
Later, the suspect allegedly stared at a mother holding her newborn baby and pushed the nurses into the nursery, but to no avail.
He would then grab the newborn from the mother’s hands and take him to the nursing room. A nurse reportedly saw him put his hands around the baby’s neck. This was released thanks to the staff.
Then, the young man would go to the daycare, where he would take another child and start strangling and shaking him. He would tell her to die.
Marcus McCowan Jr faces two counts of attempted murder, possession of a controlled substance, attempting to steal a weapon from a police officer, assaulting a public official, resisting arrest, trespassing and assault.
