Kannur: A woman died of burns while burning charcoal in Kottiyur. Ponnamma, a native of Chechappamala, died. While burning the charcoal, the fire accidentally spread to the body.
For the past few days, fires have been raging all over this region. To avoid this, all the charcoal leaves were collected and burnt in advance. But the heat of the sun was so intense that the charcoal caught fire. Then Ponnamma and local residents tried to extinguish the fire. Meanwhile, the fire quickly spread to Ponnamma’s body. Bystanders tried to save him but were unsuccessful.
